Laughter

There is nothing sweeter than a child's laughter. I was excited to catch this happy moment, especially because it is so much more real than the scripted smiles that are so common at this age. It is hard not to smile at this moment of pure joy :)
So it is my entry to the weekly iheartfaces.com photo contest: Bust a Gut!

Fierce in Pink!

My Lizzie is a girly girl. Until she enters a competition. Then you see that twinkle in her eye and you know, she is ready for battle. It is one of the things I admire in her. I have confidence that she will do well in this world due to that instinct to hang in there and fight for what she wants.

This week's theme for Iheartfaces.com photo challenge is "pink". This photo is a favorite of mine because it shows the two contrasting sides of my daughter- her pretty pink girly hat & coat and that gleam in her eye ready to take on the competition. It always makes me smile.

White

Here is my entry to the Iheartfaces.com photo challenge. If you haven't been to Iheartfaces.com, you are missing out! It is a great source of articles and tutorials on photography.
The topic for their photo challenge this week was white. I instantly thought of this first communion picture. It was a bright (really bright!) sunny day. Noon time was the only time for pictures and the sun was at a horrible angle plus it had poured the night before and there was mud everywhere. Luckily the family had a beautiful set of windows which softened the light coming in. With such an angelic face it was hard not to get a beautiful shot.
